WHAT:  Pursuant to Section 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following trail is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent:

McArthur Creek trail, from McArthur Pass to the Ottertail trail junction.

WHERE: McArthur Creek Valley.

The area encompassed by the following UTM NAD 83 z11 coordinates:                                        

541994/5681354, 542652/5680838, 543903/5680758, 543945/5686187, 545133/5688129, 544226/5688655, and 541994/5686791.  Refer to map.

WHY: Protect important grizzly bear habitat and wildlife corridors. Reduce human/bear conflicts.

PENALTY:  Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
