Skmaqn–Port-la-Joye–Fort Amherst National Historic Site

Skmaqn—Port-la-Joye—Fort Amherst National Historic Site is located on Route 19 in Rocky Point, 40 km west of Charlottetown and 55 km east of Borden-Carleton. The site is open year-round for self-guided tours and washroom facilities are open from mid-June to early autumn.  

Plan to spend a few hours exploring the site, interpretive panels and walking trails offering stunning views of Charlottetown Harbour. Special events include Acadian National Feast Day each August.

Directions

Skmaqn—Port-la-Joye—Fort Amherst is located on Route 19. Follow Route #1 the Trans Canada Highway west from Charlottetown to Cornwall. Follow Route 19 for approximately 15 km.

Parking is available on site.

The grounds provide visitors with a panoramic view of Charlottetown and surrounding areas.
